Under what circumstances may a student reschedule an exam?

Provost Robert Blackstock said he never requires students to take more than two exams on a single day. He said students should talk to their professors if they need to reschedule exams.

Some professors insist on rescheduling the exam for a date earlier than the original, he said, to minimize the possibility of cheating.
Conveniently, our topic is unsolicited opinions (the bread and butter of the Collegian Weekly). Nobody asks us what we think (maybe that's a problem), yet because of newspaper tradition and journalism standards, we opined once per week during the school year, without fail.

The environmental goody-two-shoes have lied to us. Our entire lives they've told us that recycling is an all around good. But when it's put under scrutiny the golden calf of the environmentalist movement reveals itself as merely fool's gold. Because the process of recycling requires more energy and resources than it conserves.

Ben Stein's new documentary, "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed," hit theaters Friday. The film endeavors to expose the abuses of the academy, the courts and the media in the debate on intelligent design.

I had hoped Stein would provide freshness to an over-battled issue by focusing not on arguments but on the miscommunication between both sides.

A few of these are shoo-ins, like the Tigers and White Sox game Tony Gonzalez (a fairly rabid Sox fan) and I attended in 2006, where Craig Monroe hit the game-winning grand slam in the sixth.

For many students not bound by internships or summer jobs, travel is a popular alternative to twiddling one's thumbs at home. Travel can also be so alluring that students, like this Collegian freelancer, take a whole semester off to travel the world. Having just finished a six-week stint abroad in Australia and New Zealand, staying in everything from hostels to 100-year-old farmhouses and covering a range of activities from SCUBA diving the Great Barrier Reef to climbing Franz Josef Glacier, William Clayton has collected quite a few first-hand travel tips.
