Hillsdale legend runs for state office

Abstract:
When Mike Chalberg, now a fifth year senior, met Hans Zeiger '07 his freshman year, he had no idea that within five years, the friendly junior would become homecoming king, finish his master's degree, and run for political office. "You would never assume how academically successful he was," Chalberg said....

GO FOR IT HANS! I was just saying yesterday to a Hillsdale alum that I can't wait to begin seeing Hillsdale grads impacting our government. This is great!

Thank you Betsy for a wonderful article. I should just note that our primary election is in August, not January. Also, for purposes of Hillsdale history, I should mention that the Class of '07 Homecoming King was B.J. Krech. I was Class Prez and President's Ball King.

Nothing against Hans, he's a nice enough guy (though I do not share his political views), but.... "LEGEND"? Really? I think the headline is a bit misleading, and a bit of a misnomer: the dude only graduated three years ago. I'd hardly call him a "legend."

Can we please reserve "legendary" status for those Hillsdale alums who have been graduated at least 10 years? Or at least someone who has actually been elected to political office before? I mean, Michael Sessions is more of a "legend" than Hans, and he doesn't even have a master's degree yet.

I have to agree with Ghostface. Obviously I'm honored to be called a Hillsdale Legend, but I don't think I've attained that status yet! It's sort of like Obama getting the Nobel prize - a very big title, and a premature one.

Did you guys ever see I Am Legend? It wasn't very good. You should do a movie, Hans. Nah, but seriously dude, I'd vote for you, man.
