Thirty-three Hillsdale students pledged "their sacred honor" to Delta Tau Delta fraternity Friday night in Phillips Auditorium. Amid the bulldozers and orange cones littering downtown Hillsdale, a drinking fountain, some new benches and decorative lighting have appeared on Howell Street within the past few weeks. 600,000 hunters  stalk prey today

Nearly 600,000 hunters headed into the predawn woods this morning for opening day of Michigan's 15-day, 2007 firearm deer hunting season, according to a Department of Natural Resources estimate. Next summer freshman Madeline Merritt hopes she will complete fourth grade. She has studied Japanese for four years, and now speaks and writes the complex language at third grade competency. "So if I were in Japan, they would put me in third grade," she said. (0) comments

Dim yellow lights and the mingled smell of coffee, monkey bread and fading varnish set the mood as people trickled into the Mauck Solarium Saturday night. Coming in from light snow, they threw themselves on couches and cushions around the room. The music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha hosted Storytellers, a music event focused on acoustic song writing and the stories behind the music.

Departments tally numbers for annual college budget

Hillsdale College's several departments are trying to decide how much money they will need to operate from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009. Preliminary budgets from each department for next year are due to Associate Vice President for Finance Sheri Piper by mid-December. (0) comments

Peebles opens today Peebles, a department store that carries brand name clothing, is holding its grand opening today. The store carries brand names including Carter, Unionbay, Adidas, Levi's, Tommy Hilfiger and Dockers for men and women of all ages. The store is located on West Carleton Road next to Kroger.
